The return of the pivots
Dis Pontibus 2 » Devlog
After some more playtesting with the specialized platforms, I decided to re-introduce the pivot actuators as a modifier to the default behavior (sliding). The new visual metaphor is this: they are now rocks, too heavy to allow the platform to slide, forcing it to pivot around them instead. That way I can avoid using the sliding actuators, reducing the laboriousness of some solutions.
Also, this way I can avoid using an extra control button, which I always felt as inelegant in this kind of games.
In the video you can see how the platforms slide normally unless there is a pivot rock on them, in which case they pivot around it.
