On shapes
These days I'm revisiting the shape library (that is, the set of basic outlines for the puzzles, without considering how they're divided into platforms or what additional elements they contain).
Sometimes, when I add a shape to the library, for debugging purposes I play a version of the game that have only that particular shape. It's very interesting to see the map full of puzzles with the same shape, like this:
and then play-test each puzzle and enjoy the variety of difficulty and behavior a single shape can accommodate:
The shape library currently contains only handcrafted shapes, but I plan to extend the procedural generation to this part of the game, although I'll have to be careful with some kinds of possible resulting shapes...
